I was very inspired by your work and really learnt a lot
from your technical professionalism during the workshop. Since then I have set myself up and been batiking away ever since!

I loved doing the batik - especially on Saturday when everything was happening so fast. It was a treat for me, lunch in the pub included. Thank you for making it happen. You held things together really well, solving everyone's problems and passing on your expertise. I got even more out of it than I'd expected.

I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your course the weekend before last. Although rather a long way to travel, it was well worth the effort. I am very pleased with my efforts and your help and guidance. However I have not had the opportunity to remove the wax from the 3 pieces yet
hopefully this week.
The course was as I expected, new experiences, new people and an introduction to a craft that I believe suits my ability and style. I have felt inspired as a result and hope to set up a small studio in the ( 9' x 18' ) garage at the bottom of our garden this autumn, after my Open University exams. If you are interested I will let you know how it goes.

As a complete tyro, I now feel I have started on the road
I would have loved another day.

I learnt a lot about the flexibility of batik and was able to use knowledge of other art techniques in producing the pieces. I enjoyed the experience greatly and the mix of people from Cornwall and outside the region was good.

Until I attended batik workshops with Robin Paris, I was self taught and
reasonably isolated, having not found batik artists in Toronto. I found her
on the internet and have traveled to southwest England for two workshops and
will do so again in the future I hope!
Robin was totally inspiring with her infectious love for this process. She
guided us through the basics of working with resists, colour theory, fabric,
"found forms" to help generate interesting textures on the fabric, and most
importantly, encouraged us as we explored and created little masterpieces.
She's a smart and gentle teacher, gave me tons of ideas and expanded my
understanding of where this art form can go. There isn't a session in my
studio that I don't fondly recall something I learned in Cornwall.
Thanks Robin!!
