"You'll find at Trebah a magnificent 160 year old, 26 acre, wild, exotic wooded ravine of extraordinary beauty, full of colour and scent, ever-changing always exciting..."

Four wonderful days for experiences and inspiration in this luscious sub-tropical garden combined with creative batik making. Mornings will begin with absorbing, sketching, gathering ideas and enjoying the peace... while ambling through the garden's woodland, ferns and palms, Gunnera Passage, 60-foot high rhododendrons, and by waterfalls, streams, pools and the secluded Helford Estuary beach. Afternoons will be spent developing findings and abstracting discoveries into designs for batik, including some non-traditional applications of wax resist. Alongside these and while they are drying participants can work on their own batik. Evenings will be free for discussion, relaxation or further exploration of the Helford Estuary area. Accommodation at nearby Calamansac is comfortable and spacious and set in 50 acres of meadow garden and oak woodland that drops down to the Helford River.

Trebah Garden is a ravine garden with some steep sections and steps. If you are not fit for walking on hills, you will be by the end of the retreat!

Residential
£ 325 includes self-catering accommodation (five nights), lunches and two evening meals. Materials extra. Some spaces available at £ 280 (concessionary or otherwise).

Non-residential
£ 165 (4 days), £ 127 (3 days), £ 86 (2 days), £ 45 (1 day) includes lunch, materials extra.
